HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
60 Years enjoying life's party
60 Years enjoying life's party
Pajama Party
It was a great 24 day long party. These were taken at the end of the party, but here is the core of my family, the ones who will make the next 60 years one long party.
Here are some other pieces of the 24 days. Not everything was captured on film nor do all the guests want to appear here, but it will give you a flavor of the event.
One morning as Slink and I made our way to breakfast we passed through thousands of people in Santa outfits ready for the Santa Run. It was an incedible visual experience. These photos were taken late in the event and don't give much of a sense of the crowd. They do give a sense of some of the individuals.
Here is a blog report from someone who ran:

I went to the local library to meet and hear the Queen of Comps, a retired English teacher who has become the expert on frugal gambling and written three books. The latest she wrote with Viktor Nacht and it gives advice for video poker players. Jean is friendly and down to earth. She shared stories, excerpts from her new book and video poker software and much more. What a treat to have this experience. And it was so underattended that I received plenty of person attention.
Bellagio's chocolate fountain is the largest in the world.
Images around Vegas always capture my attention and delight me. I was especially pleased to gather such fine detail of my favorite fountain in Vegas, the one outside Paris. Sensual bodies and fish both delight me.
We visited the University of Las Vegas. The students were on break so it was a deserted campus. We poked around and finally found the outdoor desert garden and the Natural History museum. We enjoyed both. In the museum were cases of icons from Mexico, gods and godesses of long ago. I took lots of photos but include a few.
And of course, we have to add friend the live snake.
The trips to Red Rock were colorful as always. The soft flowing contours of the various colors of rock is found art at its best. I did not hike. My blisters precluded much walking. The kids did hike and in one of these thots they are microscopic dots on a trail winding into the mountain.

Belly Dancers at Marakeesh
College friend Jan and Mom (89 years old and still very young.)
First time in Vegas. They loved it. They are the only folks to spend more than $25 a night. Jan's mom wanted the Bellagio, so that is what she got.
