I
did try the pickem poker at the Fremont for a while and enjoyed it.
I also won a good bit in a short time.
However,
I see that the Royal would generate paperwork. I try not to play
games that might generate paperwork.
So
it won't become my next “go to” game and Fremont won't become my
next home casino.
Even
comped I would not like the room they gave me at the Fremont. It was
the tiniest little nothing of a room. Perhaps that was because I
used the American Casino Guide coupon, but if so, they offer a
promotion that works against attracting repeat business.
I
could still hear the bands at night, and they did disturb me some. I
never got a chance to ask for a quiet room away from bands because
their computer was down and it was take what you get.
Generally,
I am getting older and less tolerant of dischordant noise.
I
won't book the Fremont again.
In
fact, I won't look to downtown as my first choice of local again.
I'll
be sorry to give up the Golden Nugget middle of the night poker, but
I'm really looking for next trip to take another ride to Laughlin,
and for a booking that puts me out Boulder Highway for a while.
Downtown
has gotten too crowded and upscale and too unpredictable. As it
moves ever more upscale, it is time for me to move downscale a peg.
